Training during the COVID-19 epidemic

Information about the rapidly spreading COVID-19 epidemic (Wuhan coronavirus) has made us decide to allow you to attend online in all training from our training catalog.

The training will be performed live, by our trainers, with exactly the same content that we provide during onsite training. Remote cooperation will be provided by special tools that each training participant can use on their computer, in the office or at home.

You do not need to install anything, just a stable internet connection to fully use all the knowledge provided by our experts, and the tools used will allow you to perform all exercises, including games or tasks in subgroups, which are a very important element of our training. In-house (remote), dedicated training is also available to be organized.

All upcoming training can be performed online, the decision to change the training from onsite to remote will be made in advance, taking into account the current situation, recommendations of government authorities and the preferences of training participants.

However, if at this point you are hesitating about signing up for a given training due to the COVID-19 epidemic, please contact us and inform us that the condition of participation in the workshop is to conduct it remotely. We will inform registered participants immediately of any change, and we will post information on a given date on our website.

If you have any questions, please contact us by phone or email.
We will answer all your questions in detail.

Online training specification

In order to held an online training:

  • At the beginning of the training trainer with participants will agree upon “working agreement” that defines rules of effective participation. Next an introduction how to use online platforms and complementary tools will be performed.
  • All voice and video communication will take place via Zoom (preferred platform) or Google Meet (in the event of a preferred unavailability) application. To be prepared for a remote session using Zoom we recommend to review the Zoom available features and similarly in the case of Google Meet the relevant Google Meet available features.
  • Participants will work both together and in subgroups through additional rooms/channels on the online platform.
  • Games and exercises will be performed based on previously prepared templates on Mural, Miro or Google Drawings platforms.
  • In the introductory parts and theoretical foundations, Google Slides or PowerPoint will be used by sharing the screen of the trainer.

Before training:

  • You will receive a link to an online communication platform enabling participation (access to complementary tools will be provided at the beginning of the training).
  • Check that your technical capabilities meet the minimum requirements we have defined (described later) and inform us at least 7 business days before the training date in case they are NOT met.
  • Please remember to arrange for yourself comfortable conditions for participation, ensuring that you and other participants are not distracted 😉.
  • IMPORTANT NOTICE:
    • In the event of technical difficulties a few hours before the start of the training, please contact our consultant, who previously sent you organizational information immediately.
    • In case it would be impossible to resolve technical difficulties occurred before or at the beginning of the training, we will be forced to transfer affected person participation to another training date.
    • According to the terms and conditions, the transfer is possible only in the case of training with Polish experts.
    • According to the terms and conditions, participation transfer to another training date does not exempt the participant from the participation fee. Read more at https://valkir.pl/en/terms/.

After training:

  • You will receive materials in electronic form: PDF from slides, export of performed exercises in the form of a PDF file and additional electronic materials from the trainer, adequate to the training (ebooks, guides, recommendations of articles/books, etc.).
  • You will receive on your email a link to the training evaluation survey and depending on the training, a generated electronic certificate or a physical certificate sent by post.
  • Additionally, we will send by post: selected physical playing and training cards, e.g. Planning Poker Cards, Delegation Poker Cards, Moving Motivators Cards – adequate to the training.
  • IMPORTANT NOTICE:
    • In case of postal delivery, due to the COVID-19 epidemic delays in shipment and delivery may occur.
    • All shipment by post will be sent to the business address indicated on the purchase order.

Minimum technical requirements:

  • Computer or a setup with a docking station that enables efficient operation on a screen with a min 15’ inches diagonal (we recommend Full HD 1920×1080 resolution and higher).
  • Updated and the latest version of Google Chrome, FireFox or Opera browser.
  • Readiness for active participation with the webcam turned on.
  • External headphones with a microphone, we care a lot to avoid reverberation and voice issues.
  • Realistic (not only declarative) 10 Mb/s (Megabits / second) internet connection bandwidth, preferably verified by the https://www.speedtest.net/ service.
  • For the Zoom and Google Meet communication tools, you do not need to have an account, however you need to test audio/video via links respectively Zoom test call and Google Meet settings (rack in the upper right corner of the screen).
  • For remote cooperation platforms:
    • Mural and Miro – During the remote session, participants will receive a link to join as a guest editor (anonymous link without registration). These platforms generate random identifiers, therefore after joining into the platform, it will be required to add your name and surname as part of the avatar in order to uniquely identify the participant. Read more about the Mural guest editor and more about the Miro guest editor.
    • Google Drawings – Having a Google Account to identify a person using tools and a platform for remote cooperation, regardless of whether it will be an account in the business (paid) plan or a free Google account. Having GMail (even free) equals by default having a Google account.
  • Please remember that in addition to the additional requirements for online training described above, you must also meet all the requirements related to the specific training itself. In particular it is related to specialized software for engineering practices (e.g. training like APS-SD, DDD, BDD, etc.).

  • They make it easier, help to work out solutions, giving the team the right space, both time and place, as well as the oppressive atmosphere conducive to work on the areas of decision-making. This helps to develop decisions from the bottom up in such a way that the areas of decision-making remain among people and not the decision maker.

    Kamil Piwowarczyk
