Description:
What is Reiss Motivation Profile™ assessment?
Reiss Motivation Profile™ (RMP) is a scientifically developed tool to study intrinsic motivation, i.e. what drives us to act and results from our internal needs, not external conditions.
Intrinsic motivation determines our decisions and preferences in professional and personal areas. Each of us is motivated by different factors in life and engages in action for various reasons. However, few people are fully aware of what makes them want to get out of bed in the morning and act.
Reiss Motivation Profile™ enables to answer the question of what triggers in us the desire and energy to achieve goals. The RMP study distinguishes 16 motivators that reveal the unique profile of each person. Based on the results of the profile, we are able to understand not only what determines our internal motivation, but also what are the sources of burnout (if our motivators are not met), what work environment is best for us, how others perceive me, or what constitutes my comfort zone.
RMP will also help us identify sources of conflict within a group or between teams. It can also support us in developing initiatives consistent with the needs of our employees, planning development paths or recruiting the right people for the organization.
The RMP assessment is available in two versions:
- Standard - for organizations that want to order a profiling package for more people in the organization, providing their employees, apart from individual sessions with RMP Master, also participation in the webinar. By attending, employees learn a broader context of internal motivators and how to work with them.
- Extended - for organizations that want to order a profiling package for more people in the organization, providing their employees, apart from individual sessions with RMP Master, also a workshop based on the results of the RMP profiling. Participants will be able to get to know the broader context of internal motivators and how to work with them. Moreover, while working in a group, they will learn the preferences and motivators of their colleagues. This will help them improve the quality of cooperation, resolve conflicts more efficiently and share tasks in such a way that they are motivating for everyone in the team.
If you want to maintain high employee engagement while working on the high retention in the company, RMP profiling can bring real benefits to your organization. By performing profiling for more employees, you not only provide them a better insight into their preferences and self-understanding, but you are able to properly steer their development or provide them specific working conditions in which they will be engaged and happy, which will directly impact on their and the entire organization’s performance. We recommend conducting the RMP assessment in teams or departments.
Who’s behind this?
Reiss Motivation Profile™ was developed by an American professor Steven Reiss and his team at Ohio State University. As a psychometric test, the RMP meets all scientific criteria, and thanks to the results obtained, we are sure that they concern us as individuals and do not describe our assignment to any group.
Professor Reiss is the author of 5 books on RMP, has published 17 articles in prestigious scientific journals on his research reliability and validity, and has been a speaker on intrinsic motivation in over a dozen countries.

- How to make employees feel that the work they do makes sense and enriches them?
- What diversity of competencies should there be in the team so that everyone is motivated to do all the work?
- How to understand what motivates others in my team and improve communication?
